Connect & Merge: Dynamic Form Sections with Unified Data
The "Merge Question Values" feature is a powerful mechanism that allows you to combine data from multiple, related questions into a single array or object, thereby enabling the creation of complex, interconnected forms. This functionality is crucial for breaking down intricate data collection processes into manageable, dynamic parts. By associating questions using a shared valueName property, you can ensure that their respective outputs are intelligently merged. For instance, a Dynamic Matrix collecting a list of employer names can be seamlessly linked with a Dynamic Panel that then generates detailed input forms for each employer, with all this information coalescing into a single employees array of objects. The platform intelligently handles both compatible questions (which naturally produce similar data structures) and incompatible ones (like Checkboxes that typically output primitive values), allowing you to transform their output to ensure successful merging. This capability not only streamlines data entry for respondents by organizing information logically but also simplifies data processing on the backend, providing a unified and structured dataset that accurately reflects the complex relationships within the collected information.
